Según el informe policial, el hijo del sacerdote Dragan Zaric y otro niño estaban jugando baloncesto fuera de la casa de Zaric en Palm Harbor cuando los niños se pelearon por una pelota de baloncesto.
Zaric separó a su hijo del otro niño y le dio una bofetada en la cara. Habían varios testigos de la bofetada incluyendo niños y varios adultos.
Zaric, de 37 años, ha sido un sacerdote en el St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church en Saint Petersburg desde 2017.
