En Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk y Hernando los sinkholes son comunes, pero solo un condado es el más propenso a sinkholes en Florida.
Recientemente se abrió un enorme sumidero en Lakeland, el trabajo para rellenarlo continúa y las personas que viven alrededor tuvieron que abandonar sus casas.
Sabías que la mayor actividad de sinkholes o sumideros ocurre el centro-oeste de Florida, eso le dijo un Geólogo a WTSP.
Lo que más me llamó la atención de todo lo que dijo es que los condados de Hillsborough, Hernando y Pasco son conocidos como "Sinkhole Alley" que se podría traducir cómo el camino o callejón de los sumideros. Pero el condado de Polk, especialmente en Lakeland es un "hot spot", más propenso a que se abran sumideros.
