While social media has offered all of us new ways to communicate and share with each other, it also has provided another arena for children and adults to be exposed to bullies.
According to NoBullying.com, 55% of all teens that use social media have witnessed outright bullying online.
The statistics are astounding.
The most popular social media platforms are addressing the issue of bullying and provide ways to report bullying activity. It’s important information that all families should know.
The team at Facebook has developed a very robust Bullying Prevention Hub. You’ll find resources to help educate yourself and your family on the topic and how to handle being bullied, seeing someone else being bullied or if you’ve been called a bully.

While not as in-depth as the resources on Facebook, Twitter provides an easy to navigate section that addresses online abuse. With use a few clicks, you are able to report someone on Twitter who is engaging in abusive or harassing behavior.
