Tampa: New Flavors At Salty Donut Are Here And They’re Amazing
One of the sweetest spots in town just got a whole lot sweeter. Salty Donut unveiled some new flavors for the current season, and as usual, they are delightfully outrageous.
Late last week, a hint was dropped on Salty Donut’s Instagram about a donut announcement that was coming. With a Cookie Monster image, it may have been obvious that this colorful new flavor would be full of personality. Then, there was another surprise posted a day later that the shop was bringing back a fan-favorite due to popular demand. Both will be available starting tomorrow.
Here Are The New Seasonal Specials At Salty Donut
Yes, the first one is exactly as it sounds—the Cookie Monster donut. However, the look may be different than you envisioned. To start, the brioche ring donut is stuffed with cookie dough. It’s then dipped in a vanilla glaze that is dyed blue to give the donut that eye-popping blue color. Here’s where we get to the next level. “Lastly, we top it all off with chunks of homemade chocolate chips and Oreo cookie crumbs,” Salty Donut explains.
The explanation of this bound to be a youngster favorite is one thing, but you have to see it to really appreciate this artisan monster of flavor. Here is the Instagram image of the Cookie Monster donut.
Also joining the lineup is the Homemade Flan donut. This was a popular item in the past, and this weekend, it’s making its triumphant return. The Homemade Flan is also a brioche donut. It is then filled with flan custard. Then, it’s finished off with a crunchy caramel shell. This item is back on the shelves starting May 3rd.
It’s certainly hard to look past the 14 different artisan donuts here, but the rest of the menu is quite tasty as well. If you are looking for more of a breakfast meal you can try either the potato egg and cheese turnover or the everything bagel, cream cheese puff. Though it’s not technically in the donut bin, the cherry pie pop tart is another sweet treat that can’t be missed.
The Tampa Salty Donut address is at 1519 W Swann Ave. To keep the good news coming, a second Tampa location will be coming soon. It will be located at Seminole Heights. More information will be coming soon.
West Palm and Orlando also are lucky enough to have Salty Donut shops. However, the greater Miami area has the most. They have five locations including a pop-up and a sixth store opening soon in Aventura.
